Multiverse appoints Kelly Griffith as Coaching chief

Multiverse has appointed Kelly Griffith as Senior Vice President of Coaching & Delivery. She joins from coaching platform EZRA.

Griffith will lead Multiverse's largest operational team as the company expands its delivery organisation to serve a growing learner base across the UK and Europe. She spent seven years at EZRA as Chief Coaching Officer, where she built the company's coaching community to more than 4,500 professionals across 100 countries.

Her appointment brings experience in managing coaching operations at scale at a time when companies are increasing spending on artificial intelligence tools and related workforce training. Multiverse focuses on apprenticeships and training in AI, data and technology skills, and works with more than 1,500 companies.

Griffith is also a qualified coach. At Multiverse, she will oversee a function central to the company's model of pairing learners with industry practitioners and support staff.

Coaching focus

Multiverse says its coaches typically bring more than five years of industry experience before joining the business. More than 100 hold advanced degrees, while coaches complete an average of 60 hours of technical upskilling each year and are assessed against an internal Compass Framework.

Learners rate Multiverse coaches above nine out of 10 on average, according to the company. It argues that human coaching remains an important part of workplace training even as employers accelerate adoption of AI systems.

That view was reflected in Griffith's comments on the role.

Growth plans

The appointment comes as Multiverse continues to expand its operations in Europe. The business is positioned around employer demand for practical skills in AI and technology, delivered through apprenticeship-style programmes for workers at different career stages.

Founded by Euan Blair, the company says its learners have generated more than USD $2 billion in return on investment for employers through productivity and performance improvements. It has raised about USD $600 million from investors including Schroders Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Index Ventures and General Catalyst.

Multiverse has become one of Europe's more prominent education technology groups and describes itself as the region's only edtech unicorn. Its model centres on training employees already in work rather than recruiting students into traditional degree courses.

Blair said the company sees a widening mismatch between the spread of AI tools and employees' ability to use them effectively in day-to-day work. He linked Griffith's appointment to the need to support customers as that gap becomes more visible.
