Maincubes' Frankfurt data centre aligns with EU Taxonomy

Today

Maincubes has announced that its newly constructed FRA02 data centre in Frankfurt complies with the EU Taxonomy standard.

This achievement is significant as the EU Taxonomy is a framework designed to evaluate whether an economic activity is deemed environmentally sustainable in line with the objectives of the European Green Deal. The framework imposes strict performance standards to ensure that projects contribute substantially to climate goals, such as reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency. Additionally, the criteria require that projects do not significantly harm other environmental objectives and that they respect human rights.

Maincubes' FRA02 data centre has been verified by Northshore, a specialist in data centre sustainability assessments. The assessment confirmed that FRA02 meets stringent energy efficiency and emissions management criteria, which enhances its credibility and reduces risks by ensuring validated compliance with the EU Taxonomy's sustainability criteria.

By aligning with the EU Taxonomy's high standards, maincubes aims to set a benchmark in the industry for sustainability and operational excellence. The design of FRA02 and its energy-efficient operations are intended to serve as a model for the data centre industry, which is under increasing pressure to reduce emissions and improve sustainability.

Martin Murphy, Chief Operating Officer at maincubes, commented on this achievement, "Achieving EU Taxonomy alignment for FRA02 underlines our commitment to sustainability and regulatory excellence. This important milestone contributes to shaping a more sustainable future for the data centre industry, while enhancing trust and transparency for our customers and stakeholders."
