LunaNet AI joins UN Global Compact to advance ethical AI goals

Sat, 25th Oct 2025

LunaNet AI has joined the United Nations Global Compact, aligning its operations with the Ten Principles relating to human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption.

Joining the initiative

The decision means LunaNet AI will become part of a network of more than 20,000 companies across 160 countries dedicated to advancing responsible business practices. The United Nations Global Compact is recognised as the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, seeking to promote ethical approaches to business strategy and operations.

By adopting the framework, LunaNet AI commits to implementing the Ten Principles, which are derived from key United Nations declarations and conventions. This will affect all areas of the company's operations, from technology design and data management to deployment and governance.

Joining the United Nations Global Compact is not just a milestone, it is a declaration of our intent to lead in ethical innovation. Our mission is to ensure that artificial intelligence evolves with empathy and integrity. By aligning LunaNet with the Ten Principles, we're building AI that understands, respects, and uplifts humanity.

Louis-James Davis, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of LunaNet AI, outlined that the company's ethical commitments will underpin the way its technology operates and is developed. The underlying aim is to reflect integrity, transparency, and respect for universal values at every stage.

Supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals

LunaNet AI's technology is focused on emotion-aware and ethically aligned artificial intelligence. Its tools - including EmotionEngine, PersonaLock, and LifeSpan AI - are designed to enable emotionally aware, privacy-preserving AI companions, with a view to creating positive impacts in healthcare, education, and personal wellbeing.

The company has defined several links between its work and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its emotion-aware platforms aim to address SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by providing tools that detect mood, reduce social isolation, and promote mental resilience. For SDG 4 (Quality Education), adaptive AI mentors are intended to support digital literacy and emotional development. Bias-aware machine-learning models will target SDG 5 (Gender Equality), supporting fairness in data use and decision-making.

Other areas include responsible automation to augment human capability (SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth), ethical research partnerships with a focus on sustainable technology (SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and transparent governance models designed to reinforce human rights and accountability in artificial intelligence (SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).

Transparency and progress reporting

As a participant of the UN Global Compact, LunaNet AI is required to publish an annual Communication on Progress. This report will detail measurable actions the company has taken to integrate the Ten Principles into its culture and operations, and how these actions align with the wider SDGs set by the United Nations.

Transparency builds trust. By reporting our progress annually, we demonstrate that ethical AI isn't an aspiration - it's a measurable standard. Our Communication on Progress will track how LunaNet AI's policies, partnerships, and technologies directly support the Sustainable Development Goals.

Davis said that transparency was a core component of LunaNet AI's approach, and that the act of publishing progress reports enhances trust with stakeholders, partners, and users.

Collaboration opportunities

Membership of the Global Compact connects LunaNet AI with other organisations, including international bodies, academic institutions, and government partners, with the goal of collaborating to advance ethical standards and governance models, especially for emotion-aware and human-centric AI solutions.

LunaNet AI will also participate in the UK Local Network of the UN Global Compact. This involvement is set to deepen the company's integration within the national and regional ecosystems of sustainable business leaders.

Artificial intelligence has entered a defining era. It can deepen inequality or elevate humanity. LunaNet chooses the latter. Joining the UN Global Compact affirms that we will build systems that understand emotion, respect privacy, and strengthen human connection.

Davis commented that the company's approach to artificial intelligence is guided by a belief in the potential for technology to support empowerment, inclusion, and human connection, rather than exploitation.
