Sun, 27th Oct 2024
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Wasabi Technologies has named Jon Howes as senior vice president of global sales, tasking him with leading the company's worldwide sales programme.

Jon Howes previously held the position of vice president and general manager for EMEA at Wasabi, a role he had served in since January 2023. During his tenure, the company reported approximately 77% growth year-over-year in annual recurring revenue within the EMEA region. Howes was also instrumental in establishing key partnerships across the territory, including with companies such as Retelit, Bechtle, Exclusive Networks, and TD Synnex.

Wasabi continues to see business growth beyond EMEA. The company now counts over 90,000 customers and 15,000 partners, operates in more than 100 countries, employs 400 staff, and has developed 14 storage regions globally, with future expansion planned.

New global focus

In his new role, Howes will lead global sales operations, overseeing a team aiming to further scale Wasabi's presence and expand market share. Kevin Dunn, formerly the country manager for the UK, Ireland, Nordics, and South Africa since May 2022, will succeed Howes as general manager for EMEA.

I am eager to continue building upon Wasabi's momentum on a global scale. The remarkable progress Wasabi has made since I joined is a testament to how much customers and partners value Wasabi's offerings. I look forward to collaborating with the sales organization worldwide to drive further growth and identify new opportunities.

Howes brings experience from previous senior sales and channel roles in EMEA at Juniper Networks, Infovista, and Oracle, equipping him to direct Wasabi's global sales efforts.

Leadership perspective

Jon has built a very successful organization in EMEA, and we see the value in his exceptional leadership skills and his understanding of Wasabi's business as instrumental for our global sales initiatives. I'm confident Jon will continue to elevate our global presence and look forward to seeing Wasabi grow under his leadership to solidify our position as the leader in cloud storage.

The company states it remains focused on providing secure, high-performance, and cost-effective storage solutions. Wasabi underlines that it is committed to exceeding customer requirements as it forges new partnerships and expands its footprint worldwide.
