Infobip has been named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Communications Platform as a Service. Gartner assessed vendors on Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision.

The recognition places the Croatia-founded cloud communications company among the providers highlighted in one of the sector's most closely watched analyst rankings. Infobip said the result reflects two decades of work on its communications platform and its focus on customer requirements.

Communications Platform as a Service, or CPaaS, refers to cloud-based tools that let businesses add messaging, voice and other communications functions to their products and customer service operations. The market has become increasingly competitive as companies try to connect customer engagement, identity, authentication and contact centre systems.

Infobip has positioned itself around that broader communications stack, describing its platform as a single system for omnichannel engagement and related services. It is also focusing on artificial intelligence as it develops the business.

The latest ranking adds to a series of industry acknowledgements over the past two years, including mentions from Juniper Research, Frost & Sullivan, Omdia, IDC, Metrigy and Fortune. It also follows Infobip's earlier inclusion as a Leader in Gartner's CPaaS assessment, which the company said had continued for three consecutive years.

AI shift

Infobip used the announcement to highlight what it sees as a broader change in customer communications, as businesses move beyond fixed campaigns and workflow-based systems. It said the rise of agentic AI is reshaping how enterprises interact with customers and what they expect from software providers.

That shift is becoming a central theme across the communications software market, where vendors are trying to show that their products can support more autonomous forms of customer interaction while still fitting into existing systems. For many businesses, the challenge is introducing more automation without losing flexibility or adding another layer of technical complexity.

Founded in 2006, Infobip says its infrastructure can reach more than seven billion mobile devices across six continents through more than 10,000 connections, including more than 800 direct operator connections. That scale has helped it build a position in mobile messaging and customer communications, particularly for businesses operating across multiple countries and channels.

Infobip is led by Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Silvio Kutić and Co-founder Izabel Jelenić. Headquartered in Vodnjan, Croatia, the company has expanded internationally as demand for cloud-based communications tools has grown.

Industry pressure

A Gartner Magic Quadrant ranking can carry weight with technology buyers, especially large enterprises that use analyst research in procurement decisions. Placement in the Leaders quadrant is often seen as a sign that a vendor combines a clear market direction with the operational strength to deliver products and services at scale.

Still, analyst rankings are only one measure in a market shaped by rapid changes in enterprise software, customer expectations and artificial intelligence. CPaaS vendors are also contending with evolving regulation, fraud risks in messaging and authentication, and the cost of maintaining direct telecom relationships across regions.

Infobip's recent awards history suggests it has been building momentum beyond core messaging. Mentions in conversational AI, fraud prevention and business messaging research point to a strategy aimed at broadening its relevance as communications becomes more integrated with security, automation and customer service.

"After 20 years, we've learned that the companies that endure are those that stay focused on their customers and don't chase every trend. We believe that being named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for CPaaS is a validation of our vision and the way we work with our customers: we listen, we execute, and we build in ways that give our customers choices," said Silvio Kutić, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Infobip.
