Hyve partners with Digital Realty to extend global hosting network
Hyve Managed Hosting has announced a partnership with Digital Realty to expand its global capacity and strengthen its service resilience by leveraging Digital Realty's worldwide network of data centres.
The agreement will provide Hyve with access to Digital Realty's platform of over 300 data centres across more than 25 countries through ServiceFabric, Digital Realty's interconnection solution. This access supports Hyve's current expansion strategy, enhancing its reach and ability to provide managed hosting solutions to a wider range of customers and markets.
Global expansion
Hyve Managed Hosting's new partnership aligns with its goal to diversify its infrastructure partners and mitigate risks associated with vendor reliance. By working with a broader group of suppliers, Hyve aims to deliver tailored solutions to meet specific customer needs.
The first major development under this partnership is Hyve's deployment at Digital Realty's LON2 data centre, located between the Square Mile and East London's Tech City. This facility has a track record of 99.999% uptime over 17 consecutive years and is powered by 100% renewable energy. The deployment is expected to underpin Hyve's core services with ultra-low latency and scalability, particularly benefitting customers with significant requirements for high-availability applications, such as those in the financial sector.
LON2 is part of Digital Realty's London Metro Connect, which allows for high-speed connections to other key sites across the city, including the Docklands. This interconnectivity provides Hyve's infrastructure with access, via direct links, to numerous internet exchanges, carriers, managed service providers, and public cloud platforms, all integrated for seamless operation.
'Our partnership with Digital Realty is not just about "more data centre space"; it's an important strategic step to further diversify and strengthen our vendor ecosystem, enhance service resilience, and bolster disaster recovery capabilities for our customers' mission-critical workloads,' says Jake Madders, Director and Co-Founder, Hyve Managed Hosting. 'We are starting our partnership strong by launching a new deployment at the high-performance LON2 site, which significantly increases our capacity to support ultra-low latency, enterprise-grade applications for our customers'.
Industry collaboration
Digital Realty's UK and Ireland Managing Director, Seamus Dunne, also commented on the partnership and the support it offers to Hyve's ambitions for growth.
'We're proud to support Hyve as it expands its global footprint. Our platform of highly interconnected data centres offers the flexibility, resilience, and proximity to markets that fast-growing provider like Hyve need to scale confidently and deliver best-in-class services to their customers worldwide, from financial institutions to technology companies and everything in between,' says Seamus Dunne, Managing Director, Digital Realty in the UK and Ireland.
Looking further afield
According to Hyve, the partnership has already set the stage for further global deployments. The company is considering additional opportunities in markets such as the United States and North America, where it reports continued customer growth, as well as in the Asia-Pacific region, where market evaluation for a new regional hub is underway.
This collaboration with Digital Realty forms a foundation for Hyve to increase its service scalability, resilience, and delivery capabilities internationally, while also supporting market-specific needs, particularly in areas that demand robust connectivity and disaster recovery provision.
