Hyland partners with HCA Healthcare for AI-powered solutions

Today

Hyland has announced a significant partnership with HCA Healthcare UK to implement advanced AI-powered Accounts Payable (AP) solutions, aimed at enhancing financial data accessibility and operational efficiency across its private healthcare facilities in London and Manchester.

The agreement involves leveraging Hyland's AI-driven AP solutions, including Brainware and Hyland OnBase, to streamline financial processes in more than 30 healthcare facilities operated by HCA Healthcare UK.

According to the company, the implementation of these technologies is expected to result in faster processing and approval of invoices, reduced administrative burden, while at the same time also provide real-time visibility into financial workflows, supporting scalability and compliance.

Leonard Kim, Chief Product Officer at Hyland, commented on the partnership: "Modernising healthcare isn't just about patient-facing technologies; healthcare staff need and deserve the best possible infrastructure to support them.

"Our partnership with HCA Healthcare UK for both content management and medical imaging provides a solution that prioritises operational excellence and patient care – streamlining workflows, delivering cost savings, and allowing HCA to focus their resources on delivering genuine value to both patients and stakeholders," Kim said.

HCA is regarded as the largest private healthcare provider globally, employing nearly 240,000 nurses and 37,000 doctors. The partnership with Hyland will enhance the existing collaboration by extending Hyland's content services platform capabilities to back-office functions. Previously, Hyland's real-time enterprise medical imaging access through Acuo and NilRead had already been in use at HCA UK's facilities.

Hyland's solution includes advanced AI-powered automation features, designed to unlock intelligent capture, automate workflows, and ensure secure content management.

According to the company, the integration aims to provide a user-friendly experience by offering a unified and streamlined platform for financial teams, supplemented with real-time dashboards to increase visibility into the AP process.

Brainware, Hyland's intelligent capture software, plays a crucial role in the solution by facilitating the classification, validation, and extraction of data. The Hyland Content Portal further enables secure, regulated access for employees and vendors from various points, expediting tasks such as uploading, tracking, processing, and status checking.

The company says the artificial intelligence technology also promises continuous improvement by automating tax and data validations to minimise errors and guarantee compliance.

Furthermore, Brainware's 'non-touch verifier' functionality offers an intuitive AP user interface for performing various tasks on the same invoice through a single UI.

Integration with HCA's upgraded enterprise resource planning (ERP) system ensures secure, reliable content management, thereby maximising the value of technology investments.
