Thu, 10th Jul 2025

HTEC has appointed Tim Sears as its first Chief AI Officer to advance its AI-first strategy across multiple industries.

Tim Sears joins HTEC's executive leadership team and brings more than 20 years of experience in enterprise software, machine learning, and product strategy. His previous positions include senior roles at Groq and Target, and he has worked across both high-growth startups and established Fortune 500 companies. He is based in the Bay Area.

In his new role, Sears will focus on delivering scalable, responsible, and production-grade AI solutions to key sectors including telecommunications, financial services, technology, healthcare, and automotive. His remit includes integrating AI capabilities throughout HTEC's client engagement process, from strategic advisory services to software architecture and delivery.

He will also oversee the continued development of HTEC's internal AI accelerators and build partnerships across the wider AI ecosystem. A particular focus will be ensuring that clients are equipped to respond to changing market conditions, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements in artificial intelligence.

HTEC sees this appointment as integral to its AI-first approach, which combines engineering expertise with strategic consulting for clients seeking to implement AI in real-world applications.

"HTEC is the rare kind of company that combines deep technical strength with a clear understanding of business outcomes," said Tim Sears. "Joining this team means joining a culture focused on delivering AI not just as a tool, but as a true strategic advantage. I'm excited to help our clients take bold ideas and turn them into tangible results. Together, we'll shape what it means to apply AI responsibly, effectively, and at scale."

In practice, HTEC's AI-first strategy is intended to enable clients to streamline their processes, accelerate the journey from concept to execution, and realise the potential benefits of artificial intelligence across their operations.

HTEC's engineering teams work closely with clients to improve both the efficiency and impact of digital transformation projects, whether by rethinking existing systems or by designing new digital products and services.

"Adding Tim to our leadership team reflects our commitment to delivering real-world AI solutions that drive meaningful results," added Aleks Cabrillo, CEO of HTEC. "Tim's blend of hands-on engineering experience and executive-level perspective brings tremendous value as we continue to strengthen our AI-first strategy across industries."

Sears's background includes leading teams to build scalable enterprise platforms, improve customer outcomes using data, and enable organisations to make better decisions in complex environments. His work has contributed to both rapid-growth technology firms and large-scale retail operations.

HTEC's selection of a Chief AI Officer marks a step in broadening its leadership focus in artificial intelligence. As organisations in many sectors increasingly seek expertise in implementing responsible and effective AI, the company is positioning itself to meet these demands with both technical and business solutions.
