Hexaware appoints Shantanu Baruah to drive healthcare growth
Hexaware Technologies has appointed Shantanu Baruah as President & Global Head – Healthcare, Life Sciences & Insurance.
Shantanu Baruah will be responsible for overseeing Hexaware's global healthcare strategy and driving growth and client success within the company's Healthcare, Life Sciences and Insurance (H&I) vertical. He will be based in New Jersey and brings more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare and life sciences sectors to this role.
In his new position, Baruah will seek to build on his record of forming high-performing teams, enabling strategic expansion, and steering complex client transformation projects. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President at HCLTech, where he led the Healthcare vertical and contributed significantly to business growth in the Americas during a period of substantial disruption within the industry.
The company states that his appointment comes at a pivotal time as artificial intelligence continues to influence various aspects of healthcare, including drug discovery processes, diagnostic innovation, and preventive care initiatives. Hexaware emphasises the importance of AI and data at the centre of their ambitions for the sector, with an aim to accelerate innovation, improve operational efficiency, and enhance outcomes for patients.
R Srikrishna, Chief Executive Officer of Hexaware, acknowledged the new hire, stating,

Baruah holds a master's degree in computer applications and a bachelor's degree in zoology, offering him both technical and scientific perspectives he brings to the leadership team.

The company aims to address the evolving needs of its international clientele by reinforcing leadership within its industry sectors.
