FPT Corporation launches automotive subsidiary for software-defined vehicles

FPT Corporation, a provider of global technology services, has recently announced the launch of FPT Automotive, a subsidiary focusing on automotive technology. The newly formed FPT Automotive aims to facilitate the worldwide transition to software-defined vehicles (SDVs).

The move is part of FPT's strategic investment in automotive engineering services and solutions, capitalising on its extensive expertise in the sector.

FPT Automotive's goal is to become a billion-dollar automotive services provider by 2030. The company will offer a broad range of engineering services which include in-vehicle infotainment, Electronic Control Units (ECU), functional safety, security, and digital engineering.

Optimising its strong team of around 4,000 automotive software engineers, FPT Automotive aims to deliver solutions that conform to industry standards such as ISO26262.

FPT Automotive's launch is in direct response to the global demand for SDVs. With its assorted range of services, the company's objective goes beyond delivering the highest standards of safety to customers. It also plans to work closely with global leaders to bolster its portfolio in areas like automotive audio, AI solutions, CDC, and AUTOSAR platform development.

Ensuring full compliance with industry standards like ISO26262 for functional safety management and Automotive SPICE for software development processes in the automotive sector is among the priorities of FPT Automotive.

The company's team of 4,000 software engineers and experts will look to deliver streamlined solutions at optimised costs, while being responsive to the clients' and the automobile industry's changing needs.

FPT Corporation's Founder and Chairman, Dr. Truong Gia Binh, reflecting on the company's over-ten-year experience in the automotive sector, commented, "With a diverse pool of talented human resources, the latest technologies like AI, cloud computing, and computer vision, as well as alliances and investments with notable companies like Landing AI and Cardinal Peak, we hope to accelerate the fast progress of the automotive sector, now defined by software."

Chairwoman of FPT Software, Chu Thi Thanh Ha, stressed the importance of the new subsidiary quoting, "Automotive has been one of our key growth engines.
