Fivetran appoints Anjan Kundavaram as new chief product officer
Fivetran today announced the appointment of Anjan Kundavaram as its Chief Product Officer (CPO). Kundavaram brings over 20 years of experience in product leadership from both private and public companies to his new role. His previous positions include senior leadership roles at Hitachi Vantara, IBM, Precisely, and RMS. At Fivetran, he will report directly to CEO George Fraser and become a member of the executive team, tasked with driving product development and strategy execution.
"Anjan's expertise in building new product lines and driving revenue will be invaluable as we continue to expand our product offerings and serve our customers," said Fraser. "With experience managing large teams and a keen understanding of market dynamics at companies like Precisely, Anjan is the right person to lead our product strategy and drive Fivetran's next phase of growth."
Kundavaram has a notable track record in delivering product innovation and scaling companies to new heights. Most recently, he served as the CPO at Precisely, a company focusing on data integration, quality, and location intelligence. Under his leadership, Precisely underwent a significant transformation into a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company and launched several impactful applications in the data ecosystem.
Before his tenure at Precisely, Kundavaram held the position of Global Head of Engineering at Hitachi Vantara, where he managed all research and development functions for a USD $4 billion business unit centred on digital infrastructure. He led a global team of over 800 employees and was also the General Manager of Hitachi's cloud and SaaS business, with responsibility for product and go-to-market (GTM) functions. Additionally, as head of the product team at RMS, he spearheaded the development of a SaaS product line that significantly contributed to the company's acquisition by Moody's.
Kundavaram holds Bachelor of Science and Arts degrees from North Carolina State University and an MBA from Duke University. He expressed his enthusiasm about joining Fivetran, stating, "Like everyone at Fivetran, I am passionate about building innovative products that help customers succeed in new ways to achieve breakthrough results. Great products come from deep customer understanding – coupled with curiosity and inspiration – resulting in solutions that deliver significant business impact. Fivetran has built the top data movement platform for startups to the Fortune 500, and I look forward to leading our product team to deliver even more innovation in our industry-leading platform."
