EXA Infrastructure partners with NJFX to boost global network connectivity
Wed, 24th Jan 2024

EXA Infrastructure, the largest dedicated digital infrastructure platform connecting Europe and North America, has forged a strategic partnership with NJFX, a leader in carrier-neutral colocation and subsea infrastructure. Announced on 22nd January 2024, the collaboration will establish a new Point of Presence (PoP) at NJFX's facility, marking a significant development in enhancing world network connectivity.

This London-based I Squared Capital portfolio company, EXA Infrastructure, operates a staggering 142,000 kilometre, fibre network that extends over 34 countries while connecting 300 cities. With its 13 Tier 3-equivalent data centres and multiple strategic sub-sea paths, including a low-delay transatlantic connection, EXA's network forms an integral element of this partnership.

EXA also announced an alliance with Bulk for the Havfrue cable system as part of its strategic presence at NJFX. The Havfrue will be integrated with EXA's pan-European backbone network to offer direct connectivity to the Nordics, thereby steering clear of major traditional transatlantic traffic paths.

Steve Roberts, vice president of network investments at EXA Infrastructure, shared his views on the venture saying, "As we embark on this strategic partnership with NJFX, we're not just connecting infrastructure; we're forging a pathway for our customers to traverse the digital landscape faster and more efficiently than ever before. We are committed to providing cutting-edge solutions in today's digital era that is defined by connectivity."

With its unique strategy of interlinking carrier-grade networks beyond major U.S. cities, NJFX houses 35 growing international and domestic operators. The major cloud and network operators connect their global backbones with transatlantic cables to Europe and South America at the NJFX campus. This partnership with EXA echoes NJFX's commitment to offering customers unmatched options in network connectivity.

Located in Wall, New Jersey, NJFX is the innovative leader in carrier-neutral colocation and subsea infrastructure, setting a new standard for interconnecting carrier-grade networks outside any major U.S. city.

Felix Seda, General Manager at NJFX, declared, "We are proud to have EXA Infrastructure as part of our growing ecosystem integrating their expansive network with our robust connectivity infrastructure. By establishing a presence at the NJFX colocation campus, EXA customers are now able to leverage low latency routes to major connectivity hubs avoiding legacy chokepoints."

The alignment between NJFX and EXA Infrastructure is a significant stride in the telecommunications industry, providing present and future customers with improved network options. Both NJFX and EXA Infrastructure, emphasising diversity, capacity, and growth scalability, stand committed to pushing ahead the future of worldwide connectivity.
