CTERA launches Insight Service for data observability

Today

CTERA has introduced CTERA Insight Service, a new visualisation and analytics service enhancing data observability for the CTERA Global File System.

The surge in unstructured data spread across various distributed environments has presented enterprises with the challenge of maintaining comprehensive oversight over data usage, security, and resource allocation. The newly released CTERA Insight aims to address these issues by offering end-to-end observability across edge locations, allowing organisations to make informed decisions that bolster security, optimise storage, and cut costs.

With centralised analytics and real-time visibility, CTERA Insight allows IT teams to monitor and manage data activities across locations more accurately and efficiently. The service provides enterprises with several capabilities.

On monitoring activity, CTERA Insight offers real-time dashboard visualisations of file activity across filers and cloud. This includes granular details and performance metrics to help organisations identify trends and make informed decisions regarding IT operations and security.

The service also aids in discovering usage by giving customers a comprehensive look into storage consumption, file types, access distribution, and ownership. Such insights enable end-users to identify opportunities for storage optimisation, better predict capacity needs, and maintain compliance.

For investigating security incidents, CTERA Insight provides long-term audit logging, detailed filtering, and activity forensics. This feature supports thorough investigations into suspicious behaviours, aiding the enforcement of robust security measures throughout an organisation.

Additionally, CTERA Insight supports the curation of datasets for AI, enabling enterprises to identify and refine high-quality datasets from extensive volumes of unstructured data, advancing initiatives related to large language models (LLM) and machine learning (ML).

CTERA Insight integrates deeply with CTERA's Hybrid Cloud Data Platform, ensuring seamless operation within the Global File System. This includes single-sign-on capabilities with the CTERA Portal, the central management system. Optimised for performance and scalability, the platform offers powerful insights while minimally impacting system performance, using pre-built dashboards and a robust big-data pipeline for clear, actionable visualisations so IT teams can swiftly respond to emerging data trends.

Oded Nagel, CEO of CTERA, commented, "CTERA Insight is a powerful tool for enterprises aiming to leverage unstructured data for AI. Providing complete visibility into the organisational data landscape and usage patterns, this product enhances data management and equips organisations to meet the evolving demands of AI and advanced analytics."

The new CTERA Insight is available for purchase as a managed service, with pricing based on capacity on an annual basis.
