Cloudera named among best small & medium workplaces in Europe

Wed, 24th Sep 2025

Cloudera has been recognised in the 2025 Best Small & Medium Workplaces in Europe List by Great Place To Work.

The listing, which is compiled annually by Great Place To Work, is based on survey responses from more than 1.5 million employees across Europe. This year, the rankings cover the work experiences of over 2.7 million employees, with 300,000 responses coming specifically from companies eligible for the small and medium workplace category.

Companies considered for the Best Small & Medium Workplaces in Europe List must have achieved Great Place To Work Certification and have between 50 and 499 employees within Europe. Eligibility is also limited to those previously recognised in national Best Workplaces lists across a range of European countries, and assessment criteria include employee experiences of trust, company values, leadership, and workplace inclusivity.

Survey and methodology

The rankings draw on confidential survey data, which examine the extent to which employers foster environments based on trust and inclusion. According to Great Place To Work, the process is designed to recognise organisations that are successful in creating a workplace experience which, as the research terms it, is 'For All', regardless of role or personal background.

"Congratulations to the Best Small & Medium Workplaces in Europe," says Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place To Work. "Despite the economic challenges facing them, these companies found ways to offer more support to their people, developing a foundation of trust that is crucial for business success in the years ahead."

Cloudera met the criteria for the recognition following its appearance on the national Best Workplaces lists in several countries and securing Great Place To Work Certification.

Cross-border workplace culture

Commenting on the recognition, Jamie Griffin, Vice President, Global Commercial Operations at Cloudera, said: "Being named among Europe's Best Small & Medium Workplaces is a great achievement. Europe is home to many cultures, but shared values of diversity, personal growth, and community unite us across borders. This award proves Cloudera has built one singular culture across the continent - powered by our people."

Cloudera's leadership in the region also commented on the importance of fostering a people-focused environment. Fabio Pascali, Regional Vice President for Italy, Greece, Cyprus & Malta at Cloudera, said: "This award is a recognition of the way we work in Southern Europe - focusing on creating value for customers, but never losing sight of the importance of people. Collaboration and transparency allow us to draw strength from our rich mix of cultures, proving that trust and respect are the foundations of sustainable success at Cloudera."

From the Iberia region, Juan Carlos Sánchez de la Fuente López, Regional Vice President, Spain & Portugal at Cloudera, remarked: "Being named one of the Best Small & Medium Workplaces in Europe reflects the culture we've built in Iberia - driven by empathy, authenticity, and purpose. Our people feel valued and connected to something bigger, and that sense of belonging strengthens Cloudera's culture across Europe."

Continued recognition

Over recent years, Cloudera has received several local and regional workplace recognitions. These include being named the number one Best Medium Sized Workplace in Ireland for 2025, as well as being recognised on the Best Workplaces in Ireland list for multiple years. Additional distinctions include acknowledgment as a Best Workplace for Women and a Best Workplace for Health & Wellbeing, underlining a continued focus on diversity and supportive workplace practices.

Criteria for inclusion

The Best Small & Medium Workplaces in Europe List for 2025 encompasses companies from a range of countries including Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, and the United Kingdom. To qualify, organisations had to first gain national recognition in 2024 or early 2025 and demonstrate effectiveness in workplace policies as well as positive employee sentiment.

Great Place To Work, the organisation behind the list, has surveyed over 100 million employees globally since 1992. Its list for small and medium European workplaces exists alongside other regional and sectoral lists compiled and published annually worldwide.
