AVEVA boosts CONNECT platform for unified industrial data insights

Tue, 28th Oct 2025

AVEVA has introduced enhancements to its industrial software portfolio to converge data onto its CONNECT industrial intelligence platform, with a view to supporting digital transformation and sustainability efforts across industries.

The recent updates to AVEVA Asset Information Management and AVEVA PI Data Infrastructure will gather asset information and real-time operational data in a single, flexible user interface on the CONNECT platform. This centralisation is designed to enable organisations to scale digital twin solutions, improve data availability, reduce infrastructure costs, and access more precise analytics.

Improved data integration

According to AVEVA, the enhancements will facilitate the visualisation of engineering and operations data in a single interface. By doing so, industrial organisations can create more scalable, high-fidelity use cases that support real-time insight, increase asset reliability, speed up decision-making, and drive enterprise-wide transformation.

The company said that eliminating data silos and enabling seamless collaboration among engineering, operations, and IT are key to enhancing performance, carbon efficiency, and actionable industrial intelligence throughout an asset's lifecycle.

Rob McGreevy, Chief Product Officer, AVEVA, said:

"AVEVA's technology is being used to aggregate, contextualise and validate asset information following industry data standard rules to provide a trusted digital twin. The technology will unify trusted asset information, such as equipment specifications, maintenance records, and engineering documentation, with real-time operational data from sensors, control systems, and industrial processes."
"This convergence happens within the CONNECT platform, built on Microsoft Azure, where contextualised data from AVEVA Asset Information Management and the AVEVATM PI SystemTM portfolio is visualised together to unlock more value through AI-powered dashboards and analytics. We're excited to bring this new software deliverable to the market."

With the latest update to AVEVA Asset Information Management, users can access trusted asset contexts via the CONNECT visualisation interface. This single, unified user interface is designed to allow teams to view and analyse engineering, asset, and maintenance data in one place-from piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and documents, to real-time sensor data and historical performance metrics.

Meanwhile, AVEVA PI Data Infrastructure continues to serve as a flexible foundation for connecting and contextualising operational data. The new enhancements are said to improve hybrid connectivity, visualisation, and analytics for digital twin applications. These features will help industrial organisations act on insights drawn from operational data.

Collaboration with Microsoft

AVEVA's integration of these portfolio enhancements with Microsoft's Azure platform forms part of its broader cloud and data strategy. Dayan Rodriguez, Corporate Vice President for Manufacturing at Microsoft, said:

"Our collaboration with AVEVA continues to evolve. By expanding the capabilities of the AVEVA portfolio and of the CONNECT platform on Microsoft Azure, AVEVA is unlocking new possibilities for industrial digital twin-bringing together trusted asset information and real-time operational data to deliver AI-powered insights, seamless visualisation, and enterprise-wide scalability."

The partnership will further bolster the capabilities of the CONNECT platform in delivering a unified view of data, with AI-powered dashboards and analytics supporting organisations in realising the benefits of digital twin technologies.

Supporting broader digital transformation

The newly announced features were highlighted as significant for supporting the energy transition and for enhancing agility in fast-moving markets. AVEVA underscored the platform's ability to empower industrial enterprises to collaborate more deeply and drive insight across ecosystems of suppliers, partners, and customers.

By integrating disparate information sources into a unified system, AVEVA's CONNECT platform aims to equip organisations with the tools to engineer projects and operate assets that improve both efficiency and sustainability. The intention is that more precise, scalable analytics will help companies identify opportunities to improve carbon performance and better manage industrial assets.

AVEVA's business approach, with its focus on asset information management and operational analytics, is expected to support industrial customers in delivering essential services while meeting efficiency, safety, and sustainability goals.
