Atos drives digital transformation at Winter EYOF 2025

Today

Atos recently trialled a suite of digital solutions during the Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) Bakuriani 2025, focusing on AI media tools, event technology, and fan engagement platforms at scale.

The deployment included an AI-powered media centre, utilised by more than 40 European National Olympic Committees and sports federations, which automatically generated and customised highlight clips based on natural language inputs. This tool aimed to streamline content production for accredited media effectively.

Atos also integrated the SportEurope digital platform, coordinating the event's web presence, social media, and marketing channels. This resulted in over 1 million Instagram views, 60,000 TikTok views, and more than 60,000 visits to sporteurope.org. Additionally, AI-generated articles featured prominently among the most-viewed pages on the site.

Fan engagement tools developed by Atos included an event app with 2,000 active users, more than 200 participants engaging in the Winter Crystal mobile game, and SportEurope email marketing, achieving a 30% open rate. Moreover, on-site attendees accessed real-time updates via screens at the venues and digital channels.

From an operational standpoint, Atos supported 8 sports across 5 venues in 3 host cities, employing 56 on-site staff and delivering over 200 hours of live-streamed content. This was made possible through a digital infrastructure comprising over 150 laptops and 70 mobile devices.

According to Nacho Moros, Head of Atos Major Events, "We are delighted that our technologies were instrumental in the success of the European Youth Olympic Festival. This inspiring event was also the perfect venue to introduce new and innovative solutions and continue to set new benchmarks in digital transformation for major sporting events. We are confident these field-proven technologies will soon be deployed in world-class events."

Zurab Tuskia, Head of IT & Accreditation for the EYOF Bakuriani 2025 Organising Committee, commented, "Atos provided a high level of professional service and made a significant contribution to the success of the Bakuriani 2025 Olympic Festival. We would like to thank Atos for their professional support, which was demonstrated through the prompt resolution of any issues that arose throughout our time together, as well as for the strong and friendly relationship that was formed between the IT department and the Atos team during the Olympic Festival."

The implementation of advanced technologies was highlighted by the introduction of an AI-powered Media Centre during the festival, which allowed automatic and customisable video clip production for accredited media outlets across Europe. Users could obtain video footage by submitting natural language requests, enhancing the speed of video dissemination globally.

Additionally, Atos developed a real-time results information system combining live video highlights, ensuring that both on-site and online audiences could stay informed on the competitions through single-screen displays.

A further innovation was an AI-powered chatbot designed to answer queries about Georgia, the Festival, and historical results, providing prompt and accurate information.

SportEurope acted as an online ecosystem, integrating the event's digital presence to maintain engagement with sports enthusiasts and foster a dynamic community. The Winter Crystal gaming experience introduced players to virtual environments of Georgian landmarks, offering an interactive adventure aligned with the festival's spirit.
