atNorth appoints Daniel Persson as Chief HPC Officer to Enhance High-Performance Computing Services

Leading Nordic data centre service supplier atNorth recently confirmed the appointment of Daniel Persson, industry veteran and co-founder of GoCompute, as their Chief High Performance Computing (HPC) Officer. The announcement has come in the wake of the successful acquisition of Gompute by atNorth, solidifying the company's position as a top provider of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence services, and colocation in the Nordic region.

Persson's appointment continues atNorth's pioneering vision to efficiently scale and meet the rising demand for sustainable and cost-efficient digital infrastructure. The company remains firmly dedicated to delivering best-in-class HPC services, reinforced by a strong and focused leadership team to ensure the highest level of client satisfaction.

Daniel Persson is a well-recognised industry leader, who co-founded the HPC enterprise Gridcore/Gompute in 2002 and was integral in the development of Gompute's HPC platform. With Persson at the helm, the Gompute HPC platform, along with atNorth's HPC-infrastructure-as-a-service solution, will present customers with a compelling pan-Nordic full-stack offering, specifically tailored to HPC and AI workloads.

atNorth operates seven data centres all over the Nordic region, with an eighth site due to launch in Helsinki, Finland, in Q3 2024.
