Aerotech unveils expanded XA4 servo drive series options
Aerotech has announced the expansion of its Automation1 XA4 PWM servo drive series, introducing new configurations that aim to provide high performance at a competitive cost.
The expansion includes single-, dual-, and quad-axis configurations designed to offer machine builders greater precision and efficiency. Daniel Hong, Controls Product Manager at Aerotech, said: "New Automation1 XA4 servo drive series ordering options make it possible for even more machine builders to unlock the power of precision. These compact, streamlined, economical PWM drives save precious panel space and offer a high-value and high-performing panel mount drive option."
The expanded XA4 series is noted for its improved in-position jitter due to a 10 kHz servo loop update rate, which enhances system performance. This series is designed for efficiency in panel space usage and is available in both AC and DC variants. The XA4-AC version uses up to 72% less panel space compared to four XC4 panel mount drives. Additionally, the XA4-DC version uses up to 27% less panel space compared to four XC2 panel mount drives.
The new configurations include versatile ordering options to cater to diverse requirements, such as a 4-axis configuration, a direct current power supply option, and both standard and high-density I/O expansion. These features allow greater flexibility in integration and compatibility with various applications and motors, including ball screws, BM, BMS, or third-party motors. The drives are capable of supporting up to 340 VDC and a peak current of 10/20 A.
The XA4 series also introduces two new I/O expansion board options. These options provide customers with up to 32 digital inputs and outputs, in addition to 5V/GND pins, an auxiliary encoder, and sync ports.
