YouTube content creation has experienced a 189% growth in search interest over the past year. This surge underscores the popularity of creating content on online video platforms, such as YouTube, which boasts 2.49 billion monthly active users. In the UK, creators reportedly earn an average monthly income of GBP £4,192 from ad revenue, sponsorships, and fan support. Earnings in the United States are even higher, with creators averaging USD $7,518.75 per month.
Tutoring follows closely as the second most popular global side hustle, marked by an 181% increase in Google searches. The rise of remote teaching platforms enables tutors to schedule lessons around their commitments and connect with students worldwide.
Print on demand services rank third globally, with searches increasing by 171%. This model allows entrepreneurs to design and sell customised products such as t-shirts and mugs, with remote production simplifying the business process.
The study highlights a growth in other side hustle interests as well, with stock photography searches up by 108% and video editing by 100%. These professions also offer flexible opportunities for generating income.
In the UK, creating stock photography has emerged as the most popular side hustle for 2025, with a 600% increase in searches. The demand for high-quality visual content in marketing has driven this trend, providing photographers with new avenues for monetisation.
Social media management has also seen a 200% rise in search interest, reflecting businesses' need for strategic online engagement. Freelance graphic design, another popular choice, noted a 150% increase. Designers working in this field can expect to earn approximately GBP £1,200 each month.
In terms of profitability, voiceover acting stands out as the highest-earning side hustle in the UK, with performers potentially earning GBP £10,073 monthly. Transcription services, a field growing by 40% in search interest, offer significant returns as well, with monthly earnings up to GBP £8,790. Tutoring, t-shirt design, tech support, and wall art all provide prospective monthly incomes of GBP £7,320, showcasing a broad spectrum of lucrative opportunities for part-time work.
Printful's study utilised Google Keyword Planner to analyse annual search volumes in the UK, alongside average monthly income data sourced from Fiverr Pro profiles. This analysis aims to understand the most trending and profitable side hustles currently available.
