VeVe unveils Evolvables, revolutionising digital collectibles

Mon, 11th Nov 2024

VeVe is introducing Evolvables, a new collectible model that allows digital items to change and grow over time, challenging traditional norms in the collectibles industry.

Historically, collecting has been a largely unchanging experience, with the rarity and value of items being dictated by their condition, uniqueness, and market trends. VeVe's Evolvables, launching on 30 November, aims to redefine this static approach by enabling collectors to actively participate in the evolution of their digital items.

The Evolvables model is unique in its approach, allowing collectors to transform their digital items. This process involves collectors purchasing multiple editions of a collectible and opting to "burn" older editions to unlock rare versions.

There are five tiers of rarity that collectors can achieve, starting from Common and culminating in the Secret Rare tier.

Ben Rose, Co-CEO of VeVe, stated: "This innovation is one of the many ways VeVe is transforming how collectors interact with, enjoy, and enhance their collections in the digital space."

"The Evolvables model redefines what we previously thought possible of rarity by giving collectors the power to actively influence the scarcity and uniqueness of their items. We wanted to provide an opportunity for collectors to grow their collections and take control of their collecting journey."

The engagement in the collecting experience is heightened as users participate in evolving their collectibles. The process of burning editions not only increases the scarcity of original versions but also endows evolved items with distinct characteristics that reflect the efforts and engagement of their owners.

Dan Crothers, Co-Founder of VeVe, shared: "At VeVe, our goal has always been to merge the ease and immediacy of digital spaces with the connection of the physical world."

He further added: "With Evolvables, every collector around the world now has an opportunity to have a hand in shaping their own collectibles, regardless of where they're located."

"A key part of our vision was making sure this experience remains accessible, with an affordable entry cost that ensures rare items aren't just for those with the financial means."

"Expanding this accessibility for fans is a priority, and we are committed to further pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the collectibles industry."

As VeVe plans to release the first Evolvables collectible on 30 November, collectors will have their first chance to experience this new feature.

VeVe, with over 10 million digital collectibles sold and four million app downloads, has a stronghold in the digital collectibles market, backed by over 200 partnerships with renowned brands such as Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, DC, and Coca-Cola.
