Susan Odle appointed CEO amidst StorMagic's growth surge

StorMagic has announced the appointment of Susan Odle as its new Chief Executive Officer, following significant growth in its sales pipeline.

Susan Odle assumes her role as CEO after serving as Chief Growth Officer at StorMagic since August 2024. Her appointment follows a record year in which StorMagic achieved a 600% increase in its qualified sales pipeline, a result of the launch of SvHCI, the company's full-stack HCI VMware alternative solution.

Odle previously held notable positions within the industry, including Founder and CEO of 8020CS, Chief Operating Officer of BDO Lixar, and Vice President of Operations at both GFI Software and Youi.TV. Her contributions to the software sector were recognised in 2020 when she was named one of the 'Top 50 Women in SaaS' by The Software Report.

As one of the few female CEOs in enterprise IT, Susan Odle is tasked with continuing StorMagic's trajectory of growth and addressing challenges faced by customers, particularly those associated with Broadcom's acquisition of VMware. She mentioned her commitment in her new role: "StorMagic's product reliability and performance, and support ratings are unheard of in the software industry, and this has been consistent for more than fifteen years. As CEO, I will harness and align our incredible cross-functional teams to help companies address the financial and operational dilemmas at or near the edge, amplified by Broadcom's acquisition of VMware."

The company's support framework has been particularly strong, with StorMagic boasting a 99% CSAT rating, a 4.5-star rating on Gartner Peer Insights, and a 94% rating for quality of support on G2. Over the past two years, less than 0.03% of their support tickets have been classified as Severity 1, with all handled directly by in-house engineers.

StorMagic's SvHCI solution has enabled the company to position itself as a viable alternative for businesses transitioning from VMware, emphasising its capacity to replace existing Broadcom/VMware environments efficiently and cost-effectively.

The company also holds a strong presence in the retail sector, with 70% of its top 10 accounts being in retail, including clients such as Giant Eagle and Sheetz. StorMagic's solutions, designed to meet the demands of high-transaction volume and highly available fleet management, cater to business-critical needs effectively.

In addition to Odle's appointment, StorMagic has completed a round of investment funding from Palatine Growth and expanded its management team to include a Vice President of EMEA Sales and a Vice President of Marketing. StorMagic was featured in 15 Gartner reports, recognising its position in the sphere of alternative hypervisor solutions.

Further accolades for StorMagic include its SvHCI solution being named a Top 5 VMware Alternative Solution by analyst firm DCIG and SvSAN receiving a high performer rating with the best estimated ROI by G2 in March 2025. The company also obtained certification from the Science-Based Targets initiative for Carbon Emissions.

Former CEO Danial Beer will remain involved with the company as a non-executive member of StorMagic's board of directors. This leadership transition aims to support StorMagic's forward-looking strategies in addressing current market challenges and opportunities.
