Purple Transform appoints Michael Shannon as new Chief Product Officer

In a significant development for AI technology innovator Purple Transform, Michael Shannon has been appointed as their new Chief Product Officer and General Manager North America. Shannon, known for his extensive two-decade long experience in Industrial IoT, security, and mobile wireless technology, is expected to bring his leadership skills and tech-savvy mindset to Purple Transform's drive for innovation.

Purple Transform's AI-driven platform integrates machine intelligence with existing cameras, sensors, and third-party data, targeting a better human outcome. This technology is leveraged to detect, alert, and offer insights relevant to specific needs. Notably in the UK, these applications have been employed to monitor rail lines for potential dangers such as trespass, overcrowding at stations, and obstructions.

Shannon has been associated with the industry for more than 20 years, with his last stint being the VP of Engineering for Industrial IoT at Cisco. His tenure at Cisco was significant as he led a globally dispersed team that successfully delivered a diverse portfolio of products for industries ranging from manufacturing, utilities, transportation, to oil and gas, and mining. Shannon's expertise is expected to catalyse the ethical AI change-maker's expansion and innovation goals.

In this new role, Shannon's chief responsibilities will centre around cutting-edge computer vision technology for critical national infrastructure applications in sectors such as rail, transportation, and healthcare. As GM North America, he will also focus on expanding Purple Transform’s sales and operations in the region.
