Pegasystems unveils powerful upgrades for Pega GenAI Blueprint

Tue, 11th Jun 2024

Pega GenAI Blueprint, the innovative app design-as-a-service tool created by Pegasystems, has introduced a set of powerful new features and an enhanced user interface. Pegasystems, known for its enterprise AI decision-making and workflow automation platforms, aims to accelerate the transformation of app design with these innovations.

Pega GenAI Blueprint has rapidly gained traction since its launch, generating significant excitement among users. In just a few weeks, over 30,000 blueprints have been created, involving nearly 500 organisations. The tool leverages generative AI to design app components swiftly by merely describing an app concept. Drawing from Pegasystems' extensive industry experience, it crafts tailored workflows based on best practices for various scenarios, including insurance claim processing, credit card chargeback handling, and patient care management. This approach helps organisations optimise obsolete processes by beginning with workflows designed for a digital future.

Pegasystems has iteratively added new features to make Pega GenAI Blueprint more robust. These enhancements, available now and in the coming weeks, include several key capabilities:

Legacy transformation accelerators enable organisations to jumpstart their blueprint designs by importing existing assets, content, and knowledge. By the end of June, users will be able to import legacy business process modelling notation models, and by the end of Q3, additional legacy inputs, such as process documentation, app screens, and full blueprint designs via APIs, will be supported.

Live application previews allow users to instantly preview the user interface across various channels, including web, mobile, customer service desktop, and customer self-service via Pegasystems' DX API. This feature, available by the end of June, helps users envision the final app and expedite the design process.

The improved user interface, previewed at PegaWorld iNspire, offers a more intuitive experience, guiding users through each design stage and providing various options to enhance workflows.

The tool also boasts data model generation, automatically generating data model fields behind each case type. Users can edit, add, and delete existing fields.

Enhanced collaboration features enable users to invite others to collaborate directly on their blueprints, with full editing and component addition capabilities.

The "generate more" button allows users to create additional asset ideas—such as case types, fields, or personas—at any stage of the process.

Partner-supplied templates enable Pegasystems' ecosystem of partners to upload and save proprietary workflow templates into Pegasystems' best practices library for future use in building and creating new services.

Once the blueprint design is completed, it can be imported into Pegasystems' App Studio, which accelerates development with a low-code approach, guiding users and fostering collaboration across teams to deliver seamless user experiences in workflows and applications.

Several industry leaders have expressed their views on the transformative potential of Pega GenAI Blueprint. Terri Henry, digital service delivery lead at Aflac, praised the tool's speed, agility, and intelligence, noting its ability to optimise workflow designs across various business scenarios. Greg Price of Virtusa highlighted the generative AI's role in accelerating the design process and uncovering new possibilities and efficiencies. Mahesh Agrawal, CEO of Areteans, called the tool a "game-changer" for its ability to create comprehensive workflows across multiple domains promptly.

Kerim Akgonul, chief product officer at Pegasystems, remarked on the overwhelming response to Pega GenAI Blueprint, noting that its transformational power in app design enables organisations to innovate on a massive scale. Akgonul suggests that this is just the beginning for Pega GenAI Blueprint, with endless opportunities to apply the technology across various enterprise contexts.
