Miro unveils AI-powered Innovation Workspace for teams

Miro has announced the launch of its new Innovation Workspace, an AI-powered platform aimed at expediting the process from ideation to implementation for teams.

The Innovation Workspace is described by the company as its most substantial product release since 2012. It is designed to serve as a comprehensive solution supporting the various stages of innovation, from brainstorming and research to execution.

While many productivity tools focus on document or task priority, Miro continues to embrace a canvas-first method. This approach supports unstructured formats like ideation and structured formats such as documentation and prototyping within a collaborative environment, capable of handling multiple media such as text, images, and audio.

"A common challenge among most organisations is that work happens across too many tools, there are gaps in communication which leads to many unnecessary loops, and there's a significant lag time in decision making," said Andrey Khusid, Miro co-founder and CEO. "These are all friction points in collaboration that, ultimately, stunt a team's innovation potential and velocity. The Innovation Workspace is the first platform designed specifically to help teams rapidly navigate the twists and turns between the phases of the process, and embrace creativity as a necessary and valuable part of innovation."

Red Hat has partnered with Miro since 2020 and expressed enthusiasm for the new platform. "Miro's groundbreaking new AI capabilities will boost productivity and accelerate the transformation of ideas into actionable outcomes throughout our process from discovery to delivery. With the Innovation Workspace features, we'll be able to reveal new opportunities and build more engaging experiences, plus up-level interactions with our clients and teams across multiple organisations," said Jan Mark Holzer, Senior Distinguished Engineer at Red Hat.

The Innovation Workspace introduces features intended to enhance the innovation process, such as AI-supported Prototyping and Intelligent Templates. It emphasises reducing the time required to convert ideas into tangible products while maintaining secure workflows.

Miro supports over 150 integrations with applications like Microsoft 365, Adobe Express, and Google Workspace to adapt to various organisational tech ecosystems. Newly introduced tools, including customised widgets and AI shortcuts, aim to streamline workflows and improve team efficiency.

The platform is also geared toward fostering collaboration by combining asynchronous and synchronous activities, with features like integrated video calling and AI-powered summaries designed to keep teams engaged and informed.

With security in mind, Miro has implemented measures such as Miro Enterprise Guard to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data, alongside tools for automated data discovery and security classification.
