Metis Accelerate wins Best Search Software Tool at EU awards

Tue, 2nd Jul 2024

MediaVision Group's e-commerce platform Metis celebrated a significant achievement at the EU Search Awards, winning the accolade for Best Search Software Tool with its flagship product, Accelerate.

Metis Accelerate is designed to effortlessly enhance SEO growth for large e-commerce brands. The product revolutionises how e-commerce teams optimise and manage their sites, leveraging advanced technology to identify demand trends weekly and instantly improve product visibility.

With many internal trading teams experiencing budget cuts, the frequent request for new product category pages is often met with resource limitations. Metis Accelerate addresses this challenge by researching the entire keyword universe with advanced keyword mining and AI, scraping the brand's current product and category set, and analysing this data to suggest new product categories that target high search demand but currently do not exist.

The tool then builds these categories into a Metis subdomain using AI to optimise them, while mimicking the brand's front end to maintain a consistent appearance. These pages are hosted behind a reverse proxy, inheriting the brand's domain authority, and are cross-linked into the site architecture through Accelerate’s category cross-linking algorithm. This creates a broader array of categories for a brand, clustering around each core product type to boost rankings effectively.

The EU Search Awards judges praised Metis Accelerate as "remarkably impressive," highlighting its capability to tackle common real-world issues faced by large e-commerce brands.

Nick Ormerod, Director of E-commerce for New Look, shared insights on how the brand leveraged Metis to surpass Asos in 2024. "New Look has been using MediaVision’s Metis platform for the last three years. Metis Accelerate enables us to quickly respond to the rapidly changing market by allowing us to create unlimited product categories, giving us the ability to react to weekly search demands promptly," Ormerod stated. By acting on weekly consumer demand insights, the platform drove a 400% increase in visibility for New Look, thus allowing the brand to outperform Asos.

Describing the platform, MediaVision CEO Louis Venter expressed pride in winning the Best Search Software Tool. Venter remarked, "Accelerate winning Best Search Software Tool at the EU Search Awards is a proud moment for an incredibly hard-working team and a massive testament to the innovation within the Metis platform. Exciting times are ahead with the launch of our Metis app, which literally puts insights in the hands of brands 4X faster than any available tool on the market."

Managing Partner Matthew Platts emphasised the platform's utility in competitive environments: "Some of the e-commerce brands we work with face hugely competitive and high-pressured markets alongside wildly unpredictable consumer trends. As a business, we’re constantly looking for ways to help our clients capitalise on opportunities exactly like this, and the Metis platform and its flagship products, like Accelerate, do just that. Imagine being able to respond to trends in real-time at the click of a button, without impacting resources in your trade and marketing teams, and having that turn into revenue? That's the power of Metis and Accelerate."

Strategy Director Tasha Antwi discussed the central role of Metis data in strategic decision-making. "Our unique proposition puts Metis data at the core of all strategy decisions at MediaVision and I've really seen it pay off. As we introduce new products like Accelerate to the suite, we're seeing performance literally accelerate, and it's a game changer for clients," Antwi commented.
