Infosys expands partnership with Microsoft for AI growth

Infosys has announced that it will expand its collaboration with Microsoft to accelerate customer adoption of generative AI and Microsoft Azure on a global scale.

Infosys, recognised for its digital services and consulting, has been selected as a strategic supplier to support Cloud and AI workloads for Microsoft's enterprise clientele. This decision leverages Infosys's AI and Cloud offerings—Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt—positioning the company to deliver AI-driven enterprise solutions globally.

This extended collaboration focuses on helping customers of both Infosys and Microsoft maximise the benefits of their technology investments. The initiative targets key sectors, intending to transform practices and outcomes through the integration of advanced technologies.

Infosys and Microsoft's partnership initially began with Infosys acting as an early adopter of GitHub Copilot, achieving significant efficiencies in code modernisation. With over 18,000 developers using more than 7 million lines of code from Copilot, Infosys has established a GitHub Centre of Excellence to enhance its enterprise AI capabilities.

The collaboration envisages utilising Microsoft's generative AI across Infosys's Solution IP portfolio, aiming to deliver cost-efficiencies, scalability, and agility. Key areas of focus include:

Financial Services: Infosys will bring its domain expertise with Finacle together with Microsoft's capabilities, enabling financial institutions to improve their operations and innovate effectively.

Healthcare: Infosys Helix, which operates on Microsoft Azure and leverages AI/ML automation, is designed to optimise patient outcomes, facilitate access to care, and improve experiences while reducing costs.

Supply Chain: The sector will benefit from optimised processes and greater agility through the integration of TradeEdge and Azure OpenAI services.

Telecommunications: Combining Microsoft's generative AI with Infosys Live Operations platforms promises enhancements in connectivity and customer experiences.

Furthermore, Infosys's Energy Management Solution, together with Microsoft's sustainability initiatives, seeks to assist customers in advancing their NetZero goals.

In customer service, Infosys Cortex will integrate Microsoft GenAI and Copilot, offering specialised copilot assistance to customer service teams.

Many of these solutions will be accessible via Azure Marketplace, allowing clients to capitalise on their Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC).

Both companies are also working to share best practices on Responsible AI through the Microsoft Responsible AI Partner Initiative, in which Infosys plays a significant role via its Responsible AI (RAI) Office. Workforce skilling is an integral part of this collaboration, focusing on equipping employees with essential skills and expertise.
