IGEL & ControlUp now offer advanced device experience apps in the UK
IGEL, a managed enterprise endpoint operating system provider, and ControlUp, the player in Digital Employee Experience (DEX) management, have announced the availability of ControlUp Edge DX and ControlUp Remote DX on the IGEL App Portal. These applications endeavour to optimise the digital employee experience of IGEL OS-powered devices by providing a comprehensive view of end-user computing environments, allowing rapid issue identification and resolution alongside cost reduction measures.
UK-based IT organisations can now quickly resolve endpoint issues, proactively prevent ticket creation, and minimise end-user computing costs through the ControlUp apps. These resources have received validation through the IGEL Ready technology partner program for use on IGEL OS-powered devices and are now accessible via the IGEL App Portal's cloud service for swift and efficient app delivery.
Jim Airdo, Senior Vice President of Strategic Alliances, IGEL, expanded upon the partnership between the two companies. He stated, "Together, IGEL and ControlUp are delivering the productive and high-performance DEX experience IGEL OS users need to help our mutual customers improve productivity and lower costs for their end-user computing environments. By making the ControlUp Edge DX and Remote DX apps available via the IGEL App Portal, we are enabling our customers to benefit from the full power of these valuable DEX solutions with rapid access to, and implementation of, their latest versions with cloud-direct download efficiency."
Similarly, Robin Brandl, Vice President of Global Strategic Alliances at ControlUp, discussed the company's objective by asserting: "By offering the ControlUp Edge DX and Remote DX apps on the IGEL App Portal, we are providing rapid access and availability of our industry-leading DEX platform to improve the experiences of IGEL OS users around the world. For virtual and physical desktops, ControlUp delivers the real-time monitoring and automated actions IT teams need to improve work performance and deliver the computing experience employees need, no matter where they are working."
The ControlUp apps function by collecting relevant user-side data such as the quality and speed of the Wi-Fi connection and the performance of their internet connection, impacting the digital employee experience. This solution allows IT teams swiftly to identify and resolve the root cause of connectivity issues reported by users, thus ensuring a smoother workflow for all parties involved.
By deploying the Edge DX agent from the IGEL App Portal, IT admins can have even greater visibility into the performance of an IGEL-powered device. The ControlUp Edge DX app can independently carry out troubleshooting, remediation and remote support, regardless of its connectivity to a virtual or cloud desktop. Simultaneously, this application can identify, resolve, and prevent issues that traditional device management software may overlook, thereby ensuring fewer help desk tickets and an enhanced desktop experience.
The IGEL and ControlUp partnership provides a unique solution to help organisations optimise their hybrid and remote work environments, according to Mike Strohl, CEO of e360. He stated, "From enhancing the digital experience to securing the endpoint to maximising IT efficiencies, together they are helping us ensure our customers are well-positioned to thrive in today's ever-changing technology landscape."
The ControlUp Edge DX and ControlUp Remote DX apps have been validated for use on IGEL OS-powered devices as part of the IGEL Ready partner program and are now available in the IGEL App Portal as part of IGEL's cloud services. These ControlUp apps can augment IT efficiency and provide a secure and superior digital experience for end users.
