Halo Solutions unveils HaloTaskManager to boost task efficiency

Yesterday

Halo Solutions has launched its new HaloTaskManager module, an upgrade to its existing incident and operations management platform designed to streamline task coordination in safety-critical environments.

The new tool enables control rooms, security teams, and event operators to manage tasks in real time with enhanced efficiency, visibility, and opportunities for collaboration. According to Halo Solutions, the module aims to replace fragmented task management approaches, including spreadsheets, radio logs and standalone tools, by introducing automation, custom workflows and direct incident integration.

Key features

HaloTaskManager's features include the ability to tailor custom task forms for audits, inspections and live events. The system provides real-time updates so all stakeholders receive full visibility into task assignments, progress and status. A user-based access system and the option to add watchers are intended to facilitate secure information sharing and promote accountability. Recurring tasks can be automated to reduce manual work, while multi-level tasking and templates help teams to rapidly respond using reusable task checklists. Native integration with Halo's incident management platform enables teams to link tasking and incident reporting seamlessly.

The new module has already been piloted by several Halo Solutions customers in the UK. David Lamont, Senior Operations Manager at SSE Arena Belfast, described their experience during implementation and use over their first six months.

"As a relatively new partner of Halo Solutions, we were delighted to test and get to grips with the latest version of HaloTaskManager. During our first six months, we used the system to manage seven round-the-clock live logs for Control Rooms, Lost Property, Car Park Operations, Maintenance and an Education, Science and Discovery Centre. On top of this, the Arena used the system to manage 61 live events welcoming over 350,000 customers. "Previously, our pre-event tasks were 130 individual items, which meant some users, like a Duty Manager, had 17 individual items, alerts, and click throughs to complete pre-doors. The recent development of the module has greatly improved task management and allows the tasks to be more user friendly in terms of building, viewing, completing, and monitoring or reviewing them. Now, a Duty Manager has one task which is neatly laid out into sub-categories, checklists, yes/no toggles, drop downs and can be worked through over a set period, completing elements as they go with the system date/time stamping every change and providing an audit trail."

Lamont's comments highlight the evolution in practical task management, reducing the manual task load and simplifying the process for operations staff.

Development perspective

Caitlin Leatham, Head of Product & Operations at Halo Solutions, discussed the company's intent behind developing HaloTaskManager and its place in ongoing improvements to operational safety technology.

"HaloTaskManager is more than a feature upgrade, it's a transformation in how teams coordinate both their daily operations and during events. When every check matters, seamless task execution can be the difference between disruption and control. This launch reflects our ongoing mission to build the most intuitive, powerful and partnership-driven platform for operational safety across the globe. Having worked closely on developing this feature with our team and customers, I'm proud of how it empowers organisations to operate with confidence."

Halo Solutions noted that HaloTaskManager was created in collaboration with frontline teams and is part of its commitment to real-world usability and continuous customer-driven product updates.

The company's technology platform is in use by public venues, major sporting events, universities and security service providers in the UK and internationally. Core elements of the broader platform include incident reporting integration, drone and CCTV feed integration, public engagement and centralised task coordination within a virtual command and control environment.
