Dave Joyce steps in as CEO of Macrium amid industry growth

Macrium has announced that Dave Joyce will step in as the new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding the company's founder, Nick Sills. This change is seen as an important step for the company, which operates in the rapidly growing sector of data protection and disaster recovery solutions. The data protection market is projected to surpass USD $610 billion by 2032.

Dave Joyce joined Macrium in 2023 as Chief Operating Officer. He brings over 25 years of experience in leading software, payment, and fintech businesses. His career began in the late 1980s with Visa International. Nick Sills, who founded Macrium and led its growth, will continue with the company as an advisor, focusing on innovation and maintaining the firm’s technical excellence.

Regarding his new role, Dave Joyce stated, "The scale of the opportunity in the backup and disaster recovery industry over the coming years is huge, largely driven by the ceaseless pressure on businesses to be cyber resilient and keep up with evolving regulations.
