CyXcel earns CREST accreditation for cyber incident response
CyXcel has achieved CREST accreditation for its Cyber Incident Response Services following its earlier attainment of NCSC CIR Assured Service Provider status.
CyXcel, a business division of Weightmans, is now recognised as having met the standards set by CREST, the international body that accredits providers of technical security services, including those involved in cyber incident response.
According to CyXcel, CREST Cyber Security Incident Response (CSIR) accreditation demonstrates that the company maintains high quality standards, professionalism and assurance within the field. The accreditation aims to ensure organisations have expert assistance when tackling cyber incidents, with CREST-accredited firms seen as meeting rigorous benchmarks in technical and organisational competence.
"Gaining CREST CSIR accreditation is a significant milestone for CyXcel. It not only validates our commitment to excellence and best practices but also enhances our credibility and trust with clients and stakeholders," Steve Sandford, Partner, Digital Forensics and Incident Response at CyXcel, commented.
"This recognition underscores CyXcel's commitment to delivering top-tier incident response services and enhancing our clients' cyber resilience. Achieving this accreditation is a testament to the skill and hard work of our dedicated Incident Response and Digital Forensics team," Edward Lewis, Chief Executive Officer at CyXcel, said.
CREST's framework involves accreditations for companies as well as professional certifications for individuals in areas such as vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, threat intelligence and security operations centre (SOC) services. Its incident response accreditation verifies that service providers are capable of helping organisations manage and respond to security breaches in a manner consistent with the expectations of international standards and best practices.
With NCSC CIR Assured Service Provider status and now CREST accreditation, CyXcel is positioned to offer incident response consulting to organisations seeking external expertise to address cybersecurity challenges such as malware outbreaks, ransomware attacks, and data breaches.
The standards assessed as part of the CREST accreditation process include capability to handle incidents, technical knowledge, operational processes, and overall client handling, with providers required to demonstrate a consistent level of quality and service delivery over time.
CyXcel has positioned itself as a cybersecurity firm with a mission to help businesses thrive by transforming digital risks into opportunities for growth and success.
At the core of CyXcel's philosophy is a commitment to human-centered cybersecurity—an approach that emphasizes technology as a tool to empower, protect, and enrich people.
