CybaVerse secures GBP £1.1m funding & new leadership

Yesterday

CybaVerse has announced the successful raising of over GBP £1.1 million in funding and the appointment of new leadership to its board.

The funding round was backed by FSE Group, Haatch, Founder & Lightning, and various angel investors, including FSE angels and the University of Sussex Business Angels group. This financial injection is poised to support CybaVerse's mission to innovate within cyber security for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through its platform, CybaVerse AI. The company has recently expanded its leadership team with three senior appointments to further this goal.

One of the notable hires is Andreas Wuchner, who joins as Chairman. Wuchner brings extensive experience with over 26 years in cyber security, having worked in senior roles at companies such as Deutsche Bank, UBS, and HP. "I'm delighted to be a part of the CybaVerse team. I have been completely drawn to Ollie's ambitions and goals and the company's innovation and creativity, which I believe will significantly benefit the security community at large," Wuchner stated.

Additionally, Juliette Hudson has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Hudson's previous roles include SOC regional manager at Kroll and technical positions at Bupa and Symantec, equipping her with crucial experience for her new position. Nicola Hartland also joins CybaVerse as a Non-Executive Director and Brand Advisor, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in technology and cyber industries.

Wuchner remarked on the importance of supporting SMEs in cyber security: "Cyber security is the most critical challenge in the digital world and we must support SMEs with a more efficient way to defend against the threats they face, otherwise we will always be on the backfoot to adversaries. I believe CybaVerse is making strides in tackling this important issue, and I am delighted I will be playing a part in helping them reach this goal with my skills, experience and network."

Oliver Spence, CEO of CybaVerse, expressed enthusiasm regarding the new team members: "It's a pleasure to welcome Andreas, Nicola and Juliette to our growing team. With their rich technical experience and deep expertise in operations and leadership, they will be invaluable assets to CybaVerse. As we continue to develop CybaVerse and our platform offerings, I believe they each have the necessary skills and experience to help us realise, and surpass, our ambitions."

The funding and leadership expansion are aimed at enhancing the development and implementation of CybaVerse's SaaS platform, CybaVerse AI. This platform is designed to provide SMEs with simplified cyber security management, offering a comprehensive view of their cyber landscape to boost efficiency and support in-house IT teams.

Matt Jonns, CEO & Co Founder at Founder and Lightning, commented on the investment: "We love the fact that CybaVerse has significant traction and very impressive founders and board. They are the perfect fit for us as they already have product-market fit nailed and the love of their customer base. We will now support them to reach their next goals with tech and investment. We were very impressed with their ultimate vision to build a comprehensive SaaS-based cyber security management system tailored for SMEs."
