Chris Burgess appointed CEO as CTI Digital targets UK expansion

Yesterday

CTI Digital has named Chris Burgess as its new Chief Executive Officer to lead the company's growth strategy and expansion plans.

Chris Burgess joins CTI Digital with more than 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship and technology, and a background in digital transformation for global organisations. His credentials include project work with Credit Suisse, Transport for London, and the Ministry of Defence, and he previously held the position of CEO at Future Technology IP Ltd, a role that saw him found and scale several high-growth ventures.

Under Burgess's leadership, CTI Digital aims to strengthen its presence in the UK's digital sector by growing its AI-driven service offerings. This strategy includes the extension of interactive and immersive experiences using artificial intelligence, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies. The company will also prioritise deepening ties within sectors such as charity, higher education, tourism, membership organisations, and eCommerce.

CTI Digital's existing client portfolio features Chester Zoo, Mind, Little Greene, Polyflor, De Vere Hotels, and the University of West London. Burgess's appointment is part of a wider plan to build on these relationships and establish CTI Digital as a preferred partner for digital transformation projects.

Chairman's welcome

"We're pleased to welcome Chris Burgess as our new CEO. His entrepreneurial mindset, technical prowess, and ability to anticipate industry trends make him the ideal leader to elevate CTI Digital to new heights. With Chris in charge, we're confident in our vision to become the premier partner for digital transformation in the UK, helping clients modernise, innovate, and grow."

This view was expressed by Simon Wilkinson, Chairman of CTI Digital, highlighting the organisation's confidence in Burgess's leadership and the direction in which he intends to take the agency.

Strategic focus

Part of Burgess's remit will include refining CTI Digital's core services, accelerating innovation across its portfolio, and introducing new initiatives designed to support the recruitment and retention of digital professionals. These efforts are aimed at maintaining CTI Digital's competitive position in areas such as strategic consultancy, website design and development, and digital marketing.

Approach to transformation

"I am honoured to be joining CTI Digital at such a pivotal moment. Organisations across every sector are grappling with rapid digital change. Our role is to simplify that journey, using the best of design, data and emerging tech to deliver results that matter. The team's focus on creativity, technology, and innovation resonates deeply with my own values, and I'm looking forward to working with them to push boundaries and deliver transformative digital experiences that help our clients to thrive."

This was the statement from Chris Burgess, who emphasised the broad scale of digital changes facing organisations and the solutions CTI Digital plans to provide. His reference to using design, data, and emerging technology outlines the intended approach for delivering client results.

CTI Digital was founded in 2004 and now employs over 150 specialists across two offices in the North West. The agency's service offerings span consultancy, digital strategy, web development, and digital marketing. Its focus on growing its sector expertise and technology-led services reflects broader trends within the UK digital industry, particularly as organisations seek support in leveraging the latest advances in artificial intelligence and immersive technologies.
