Acronis launches comprehensive XDR solution for MSPs
Acronis has announced the introduction of Acronis XDR, a new solution designed to expand its security offerings beyond endpoint protection. Acronis XDR aims to deliver a comprehensive, natively integrated cybersecurity framework tailored specifically for managed service providers (MSPs).
The launch of Acronis XDR builds on the company's existing endpoint detection and response (EDR) offerings, providing broader and more efficient protection measures. Acronis XDR integrates data protection, endpoint management, and automated recovery solutions into a unified platform designed for ease of deployment, management, and maintenance.
The landscape of cyberattacks has become increasingly complex, with cybercriminals leveraging artificial intelligence and an expanding array of attack surfaces. These trends necessitate more robust security measures, particularly for businesses that are highly susceptible to data breaches and malware. Existing security tools available to MSPs often come with high costs, complexity, and incomplete protection, further complicating the defence against growing cyber threats. Acronis XDR has been developed to address these challenges, offering comprehensive protection without the associated costs and complexity typically found in traditional tools.
Chris Kissel, Research Vice-President at IDC, remarked on Acronis XDR's entry into the market, noting the company's established experience with endpoint protection platforms. Kissel highlighted the platform's capabilities, such as mapping alerts to MITRE ATTACK, offering cloud correlation detections, and supporting multitenancy, all accessible through an intuitive dashboard.
Key features of Acronis XDR include native integration across cybersecurity, data protection, and endpoint management. The platform aims to protect against vulnerable attack surfaces, enabling uninterrupted business operations. Acronis XDR also boasts high efficiency, offering easy launch, management, and scalability of security services. It utilises AI-based incident analysis and provides single-click response features to ensure prompt investigation and resolution of security incidents.
Gaidar Magdanurov, President at Acronis, emphasised the importance of providing reliable cybersecurity for customers with diverse IT environments and limited budgets. According to Magdanurov, Acronis XDR allows MSPs to offer high-quality security services without the complexity and overheads associated with traditional, non-integrated tools. The integration of AI-driven capabilities helps MSPs to deliver robust cybersecurity even if they possess limited expertise in the field.
Earlier this year, Acronis introduced Acronis MDR powered by Novacoast, an advanced endpoint security service designed for MSPs. This service was engineered to work in conjunction with the Acronis EDR solution, focusing on passive endpoint protection. The addition of Acronis MDR aims to enhance MSPs' security capabilities without requiring significant investments in security resources.
The launch of Acronis MDR and XDR is part of a broader strategy to expand Acronis's suite of security offerings. These initiatives build upon the company's EDR solution introduced in May 2023. Acronis's security solutions leverage AI-based innovations and native integrations to reduce complexity and provide comprehensive protection. The company's portfolio is designed to allow MSPs to deliver complete cybersecurity solutions to their customers while scaling their operations efficiently.
Acronis continues to focus on providing highly integrated cybersecurity and data protection solutions, aiming to meet the needs of a diverse range of IT environments.
