Litera invests in Postilize to boost AI-driven legal business tools
Litera has announced a strategic investment in Postilize to enhance the delivery of data-driven, AI-powered business development solutions for legal teams.
The partnership has resulted in the introduction of Foundation Proactive, Powered by Postilize, which integrates Postilize's AI platform with Litera's Foundation and Peppermint products to offer proactive relationship management within the Litera One platform. This approach is intended to shift the legal sector from traditional, reactive business development tools to proactive management, leveraging relationship intelligence, marketing automation and AI-driven personalisation.
Postilize, established in 2023 by Jody Glidden, previously Founder of Introhive, and James Wang, a former BlackBerry executive, is designed to modernise legal business development. The platform is purpose-built to move legal professionals away from conventional client relationship management (CRM) systems towards more responsive, data-informed client engagement. Postilize provides law firms with tools to act on early business signals, maintain up-to-date client data without manual processes, and embed key features directly within lawyers' workflows through Outlook, LinkedIn, CRM, and mobile integrations.
Foundation Proactive aims to allow law firms to capture significant client-related events, identify their strongest existing connections, and create outbound messages aligned with specific partner communication styles. According to the companies, this gives firms the means to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities that might previously have gone unnoticed.
Proactive relationship management
"This transformative technology enables lawyers to engage clients at precisely the right moment with highly relevant, personalised communications - what we call Proactive Relationship Management," said Adam Ryan, Chief Product Officer at Litera. "By leveraging our integrated Litera One platform, firms can identify and capitalise on new business opportunities that would otherwise remain hidden."
Echoing the significance of the partnership, Jody Glidden, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Postilize, said, "Together, Postilize and Litera are setting a new standard for legal technology - one that delivers immediate recommended actions and personalisation at the center of every client interaction. Our shared vision is to help firms unlock greater business opportunities and deliver exceptional value through smart, seamless integration."
Postilize's core offerings, including Signals, Messaging, ERM, and Sync, are designed to help law firms identify shifts in client requirements, draft tailored outreach in each partner's authentic style, and keep CRM records accurate and current with minimal manual intervention.
Industry reception
The investment and partnership have drawn attention from legal sector professionals seeking more effective business development approaches. Mark Levin, Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer at Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP, commented on the value of the platform's proactive capabilities:
"Effective business development often means empowering partners to recognise evolving client needs as they are happening. Those insights not only help clients and our firm, but they also deepen relationships. Postilize is often the better angel for us. Everyone wants to know what is happening in their network, and Postilize surfaces insights and gives us direction for outreach."
Litera states that by integrating the insights derived from Foundation and the events identified through Postilize's Signals, law firms can deliver a true proactive relationship management (PRM) experience. Combining Signals and Messaging with Foundation Peppermint and Foundation Marketing, legal teams are enabled to act on actionable business intelligence as it becomes available.
The new partnership is intended to address the needs of legal professionals for tools that help reduce administrative burden, unify workflow platforms, and maintain data integrity while providing actionable insights to drive business growth. According to Litera, the combined offering of Foundation Proactive, Powered by Postilize, focuses on addressing evolving demands for seamless workflow integration and more targeted client engagement across the legal industry.
