Homedics unveils Bridge vibroacoustic cushion in UK
HoMedics has officially introduced its pioneering vibroacoustic massage cushion, the Bridge, to the United Kingdom market, significantly diversifying its existing portfolio of home-based wellness solutions.
This sophisticated addition to the range is specifically engineered to synthesise low-frequency auditory stimulation with physical resonance, offering users a comprehensive sensory experience through structured, guided sessions.
The Bridge Vibroacoustic Massage Cushion utilises high-specification integrated transducers designed to meticulously convert sound waves into tactile vibrations. This dual-action approach is purposefully developed for individuals managing demanding schedules who require efficient, evidence-based relaxation and physical recovery protocols within the comfort of their own residences.
By bridging the gap between professional-grade therapy and domestic convenience, the device provides a customisable method for alleviating daily stress and enhancing overall physiological well-being.
How it works
Vibroacoustic therapy uses low-frequency sound waves, typically in the 20-100Hz range, that can be felt as vibration through the body. The Bridge cushion uses what Homedics calls NanoPulse nodes to translate low-frequency sound into vibrations designed to travel through the body.
The cushion has five preset programmes: sleep, calm, focus, recovery and energise. Users select a programme and run a session positioned as part of a 20-minute daily routine. Intensity controls adjust both vibration and volume.
The device also supports Bluetooth streaming from a phone or other source. Homedics has created a "Homedics Vibroacoustic" playlist that can be played through the cushion. Because the cushion converts sound into haptic output, the audio source influences the vibration pattern.
Use cases
Homedics positions the cushion for relaxation, recovery, focus and sleep. It also points to wider research into vibroacoustic therapy, citing studies that have reported positive effects on stress, anxiety, chronic pain and sleep quality.
The Bridge cushion enters a market where at-home wellness products compete with massage devices, guided meditation apps and sleep aids. Vibroacoustic products sit between audio-based relaxation and physical massage, combining sound and vibration during a session.
Design and controls
The Bridge cushion is designed for use on a bed or in a chair. It is described as lightweight, portable and easy to store when not in use. A remote control manages track selection and provides separate adjustments for sound level and vibration intensity.
The device comes with a three-year guarantee, which Homedics says is intended to provide reassurance for long-term home use.
Pricing and retail
The Homedics Bridge Vibroacoustic Massage Cushion has an RRP of £179.99. It is available from Homedics in the UK, as well as via Argos and Amazon.
The launch adds to Homedics' broader portfolio, which includes massage, sports recovery, aromatherapy, air purification and spa-related devices. Founded in 1987, the company says it has sold more than 100 million products across more than 60 countries and has more than 200 patents granted, active or pending.
"By combining innovative vibroacoustic technology with intuitive design, Homedics offers a simple, effective solution for people who want to feel better but don't have time to slow down - making wellbeing achievable, even on the busiest days," Homedics said.
