Gamma unveils GammaUCX to unify cloud voice estates
Gamma has launched a new voice network service, GammaUCX, that links multiple cloud communication platforms and existing telephony systems through a single management layer.
The UK-based provider of communication services said the new offering gives IT teams one environment to manage calling across Microsoft Teams, Webex, contact centre systems and legacy PBXs. The product targets organisations that run mixed estates in several countries.
Gamma said many organisations face delays when they move away from traditional voice infrastructure. Number porting processes often remain manual. Telephony estates also sit across multiple platforms and carriers. The company said this fragmentation can result in higher call charges over the public switched telephone network and rising operational costs.
Executives at many companies now seek faster returns from investments in unified communications as a service and contact centre as a service. Gamma said long-running migrations and legacy systems often slow those programmes.
Single voice layerGammaUCX acts as a central voice network across cloud communication tools and older systems. The network supports two-way calling in more than twenty countries. The company said it integrates with major cloud platforms and supports hybrid environments.
The service keeps calls “on-net” where possible. This keeps traffic on Gamma’s own infrastructure. The company said this approach gives customers more control over performance and costs.
GammaUCX also offers real-time number management. IT staff can switch traffic between services and redirect calls during outages or staff absence. The service keeps number presentation consistent across different applications.
The company said IT teams can handle many changes through the GammaUCX interface. Staff do not need to raise tickets with third parties or wait for number porting tasks in many cases. This reduces reliance on external processes.
Migrations in EuropeGamma said GammaUCX already underpins migration and modernisation projects for customers across Europe. The platform has supported the cloud communications of some of the largest UK companies for several years.
The company recently introduced the service in the Netherlands. Customers there have reported faster transitions, stronger governance and tighter control of telephony services. Many of those customers are consolidating services and reducing risks linked to traditional porting and fragmented operations.
Gamma positions the product as suitable for organisations that still maintain hybrid estates. These often combine on-premise PBXs with modern cloud collaboration tools. The company said many large enterprises continue to run such mixed environments across multiple regions.
The service allows organisations to retain existing cloud solutions while they plan their own migration timelines. They can also add new services on top of the GammaUCX network. Gamma said this meets demand for flexible sequencing of technology change, rather than single cutovers.
Customer controlGamma said the new service addresses demand from IT leaders who want more direct control of voice infrastructure. Many teams want to reduce the time between a business decision and the change taking effect in the network.
Richard McPhee, Solutions Director at Gamma, said: “Businesses want to modernise without disruption. They want the freedom to choose the platforms that work for them and the confidence that their voice services will follow. With GammaUCX, we remove the barriers that have held organisations back for years. IT teams can move numbers, redirect calls and manage their entire estate in real time through one place. It gives them control, flexibility and a much simpler path to the cloud.”
GammaUCX includes a managed service element. Customers receive 24/7 support and ongoing optimisation of the service. Gamma said it will expand the feature set over time and extend the service into more international markets.
The company said the platform forms part of a broader approach to resilience and business continuity. It gives organisations more options when they plan for outages or shifts in working patterns. This includes planning for distributed workforces and new communication channels.
Gamma operates across the UK and continental Europe, with core markets in the UK and Germany and additional presence in Spain and the Benelux region. It sells through channel partners and direct enterprise engagements.
The business said it is already working on further developments for GammaUCX and on extending its reach into more countries and partner ecosystems.
