Evolve appoints Will Clowes as Chief Revenue Officer for growth

Evolve Business Group has appointed Will Clowes as Chief Revenue Officer as it enters a new phase of expansion.

The Wigan-based provider of managed network and IT solutions has brought in Clowes, whose career spans 15 years in business development, customer retention and growth strategies. His previous roles include Chief Growth Officer and President at amplify5, Sales Director at Creditsafe, and Head of Key Customer Growth at Liberis.

Evolve, which counts household names such as Asda among its clients, operates across three continents and 12 countries, with a workforce of over 130 employees. The appointment follows several recent milestones for the company, including the completion of its first ever investment round backed by BGF in 2024 and the expansion of its headquarters in 2025.

The company marked its 20th anniversary this year. Over two decades, Evolve has grown from its origins as a startup to a provider for major retail, hospitality, forecourt, and construction sector clients, now supported by a 6,000 square foot warehouse and 24/7 network operations capabilities.

Clowes's remit includes scaling Evolve's operations, streamlining internal processes, and improving sales and marketing functions. He has also focused on recruitment, internal training initiatives, and investment in technologies such as CRM systems and artificial intelligence to support company growth.

Evolve's growth trajectory has been recognised by industry bodies, with the company receiving a one-star accreditation from Best Companies in 2025 and awards for both its investment strategy and executive leadership in 2023.

Chief Executive Officer Alan Stephenson-Brown described Clowes's arrival as an important step in the company's ongoing development. The CEO commented on the combination of consistent growth and experience within the business.

Among recent operational highlights, Evolve has expanded its office space, enhanced its employee engagement programmes, and increased its focus on research and development, dedicating 200 hours per week to R&D activities. The company has also introduced products such as the dashboard tool Vision and continues to invest in service upgrades.

Evolve maintains long-standing relationships with BT and other internet service providers, which it reports allows the company to offer greater UK coverage than some competitors. It has also developed partnerships for service delivery in areas including guest Wi-Fi provision.

The company exceeds apprenticeship commitments as part of the 5% Club and participates in community initiatives, including its patronage of Wigan Youth Zone. Evolve continues to differentiate itself by operating a fully staffed Network Operations Centre available for both inbound and outbound customer service year-round, in contrast to some industry competitors that primarily use chatbots or automated systems.
