Daemon wins EMEA AWS award for AI advances in Tachmed project
Daemon has won the EMEA AWS Innovation Partner of the Year award for its role in deploying artificial intelligence to support product development at healthcare technology company Tachmed.
Project background
Daemon is a technology and AI consultancy. The award recognises its work with Tachmed to implement an AI platform that helped accelerate the development of digital diagnostic solutions. By using a customised, scalable AI platform, Daemon enabled Tachmed to reduce the time required to bring its healthcare products to market.
AI implementation
According to Daemon, the collaboration involved integrating AI into Tachmed's research workflows. This allowed scientists and researchers to more rapidly locate data, identify clinical applications, and develop diagnostic tools. Daemon focused on addressing the challenge of fragmented information, which often slows down research and development in healthcare.
Ian Ray, Head of Data at Daemon, said:
"Working with Tachmed's scientists, it quickly became clear how much valuable time was lost searching for answers across vast, fragmented data. By embedding AI directly into the research workflow, we've cut that time in half and enabled faster identification of clinical use cases and diagnostic reagents.
Ray also commented on the wider implications of the project: "Our work with Tachmed has reinforced just how powerful AI can be when applied with purpose. This collaboration demonstrates that when boundaries are pushed, AI can fundamentally change the pace of diagnostic innovation and time-to-market.
"We're excited by what we've achieved so far and are committed to continued innovation and seeing what AI can do in complex, rich domain environments. This is only the beginning, and we're determined to achieve breakthroughs using AI that traditional methods simply can't," said Ray.
Healthcare impact
Tachmed's solutions aim to bring digital diagnostics into both clinical settings and patients' homes. The partnership with Daemon is part of a strategy to leverage health data and advanced digital technologies to broaden access to diagnostics and improve efficiency.
Paul Christie, Chief Executive Officer of Tachmed, said: "We are incredibly proud that Daemon's exceptional work with Tachmed has been recognised by AWS. This award not only celebrates a technical achievement, but also a fundamental acceleration of our mission to bring life-changing digital diagnostics to individuals in their clinicians' practice and from the comfort of their own home. This partnership is a powerful example of Tachmed's 'health data first' strategy and how AI, data and advancing technologies have the capability to truly transform healthcare on a global scale."
Award criteria
The EMEA AWS Innovation Partner of the Year Award is one of several regional and global awards recognising companies that have delivered consulting, professional, managed, and value-added resale services leveraging Amazon Web Services. Submissions for the awards underwent review by an independent third party with a focus on successful implementation and outcomes in customer projects.
The judges considered a range of metrics, with an emphasis on demonstrating improved customer outcomes through the deployment of AI, cloud, and data-driven strategies.
