Cybanetix boosts MDR growth with AI & rapid response

Tue, 13th Jan 2026

Cybanetix said it has recorded its strongest increase in recurring revenue, driven by demand for its security operations centre and managed detection and response services.

The company said 90% of its annual recurring revenue comes from recurring contracts linked to its security operations centre services. It said new business and expanded work with existing customers increased its market share. Cybanetix also said profits grew faster than revenue.

Martin Jakobsen, Chief Executive Officer, Cybanetix, linked the performance to service development and the use of automation and artificial intelligence in its operations.

"We're where we expected to be as we look to the end of the 2026 fiscal year. With high organic growth, we are outperforming the general market trend significantly, and that is despite a continuous volume of new entrants into the market. The success is founded in the continual evolution of our services to ensure they stay relevant and ahead of the evolving threats," said Martin Jakobsen, Chief Executive Officer, Cybanetix.

Cybanetix positions itself as a managed detection and response specialist. It said it runs a 24/7/365 security operations centre, with analysts monitoring customer systems and responding to security alerts. The company said its services include investigation and forensic analysis.

Jakobsen said the company has added automation and AI into its service delivery. Cybanetix said it uses these tools in its security operations centre. The company said it gives analysts and customers more information during monitoring and response activity.

Cybanetix also made a service-level commitment on response times. It said its security operations centre guarantees a response time of under 15 minutes to all detected threats. The company said it is currently averaging response times that are shorter than that threshold.

Workforce growth

Cybanetix said headcount increased 38% over the last year. The company linked the rise to customer demand and its service-level agreements. It also said it plans further expansion linked to its managed detection and response offering.

The company described managed detection and response as an all-inclusive service. It said it takes an outcome-focused approach and adapts the service to customer needs. It also said it uses an agile approach to service delivery.

"MDR is a rapidly growing market for us because we offer an all-inclusive service with no hidden costs. As it is outcome-focused, our MDR is tailored to the customer and uses an agile approach to service delivery, which ensures it adapts to their changing needs, be that a change in risk profile or a new technology they've deployed. In a market where MSSPs tend to deliver a uniform service throughout the duration of a contract or ramp up costs when that service changes, that marks us out," said Jakobsen.

AI in SOC

Cybanetix said generative AI is integrated into security tools used by its security operations centre. The company said the approach increases speed of use and provides contextual explanations. It also said it offers large language model support for security operations centre analysts.

The company listed processes where automation plays a role. It said these include case enrichment and entity enrichment. It also cited case management, containment and remediation, and forensics.

Cybanetix said it plans further AI-related work over the next year. It said it expects efficiencies and scalability. It also said it expects these changes to improve margins.

Customer reporting

Cybanetix also pointed to a reporting product it launched last year. It said the Cybanetix Reporting Engine is available to managed detection and response customers. It described the product as a reporting portal.

The company said the portal aggregates security incidents, posture and tooling data into one interface. It said it provides real-time reporting on daily, monthly and quarterly cycles. It also said reporting can be tailored for business requirements. Cybanetix said the tool allows a Chief Information Security Officer to conduct board-level reporting directly from the platform.

Sectors and expansion

Cybanetix said its customers span retail, manufacturing, media, entertainment, education and travel. It also said it works with organisations in regulated sectors such as critical national infrastructure, financial services and utilities.

The company said it plans to grow its customer base and headcount. It said it is also considering expansion into the US and the Middle East over the next four years.
