BDO appoints Ben Coggin to boost Yorkshire Deals team growth
BDO has expanded its Yorkshire Deals team with the appointment of Ben Coggin as Transaction Services Partner. Coggin previously held a Partner role at EY within Transaction Diligence and brings industry experience across technology, media, business services, and industrial markets.
Regional focus
Coggin will be based in Leeds and is tasked with growing the Transaction Services practice across Yorkshire and the North East. His remit is to support mid-market businesses pursuing strategic transactions. He joins after a period of growth for BDO in the region, with Jeff Gardner recently promoted to Partner and Tim Day joining earlier in the year to strengthen the firm's private client and private equity M&A practice.
Team growth
BDO's increased focus on the region emphasises transaction service delivery for mid-sized businesses. Coggin's appointment is aligned with the firm's strategy to consolidate its position across sectors integral to the local economy.
Professional expertise
"The Yorkshire Deals team has a fantastic reputation in the region for its drive, expertise and passion for supporting dynamic businesses looking to expand through strategic M&A. Ben's appointment strengthens our position and reputation across key regional sectors," said Jason Whitworth, Partner, Yorkshire and North East, BDO.
Whitworth added, "His experience working on private and capital markets transactions is a valuable asset to the team. Our deals proposition has never been stronger."
Mid-market commitment
Coggin will also work closely with the wider Leeds Deals team. His role will focus on supporting growth opportunities for BDO both nationally and in Yorkshire, particularly among mid-market businesses.
"I'm delighted to be joining BDO as a Transaction Services Partner. I was drawn to BDO for its strong brand and clear focus on the mid-market," said Coggin.
"I'm really looking forward to working with both the Transaction Services and wider Leeds Deals team to help unlock the significant growth opportunity the organisation has both nationally and in the Yorkshire region," said Coggin.
"On a personal level, I'm genuinely excited about working with the wider BDO community to continue building a team culture that values authenticity, collaboration and a growth mindset. It's an exciting time to be joining the firm," said Coggin.
